The New Jersey Coalition Against Human Trafficking is proud to announce that they are beginning a year long Project ECHO® on Healthcare's Human Trafficking Response:
Moving Toward Safety and Self Identification for Survivors
Project ECHO® is a proven ALL TEACH, ALL LEARN model to share expertise, examine real cases, and develop practical, trauma informed protocols that can be implemented across diverse health systems.
Thanks to funding by Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital’s Level 1 Trauma Center, the NJCAHT is able to run 10 one-hour survivor-informed monthly sessions from April 2026 to April 2027 with a cohort of 25 participants.
Healthcare professionals, committed to strengthening our state’s healthcare response to human trafficking, are invited to apply to be in the cohort, which is free to participate in.
Interested applicants must email diana@safernj.org to receive an application packet, and applications are due by end of business on Monday, March 30, 2026.
Human trafficking remains widely misunderstood in clinical settings, and consistent, survivor centered training is still uncommon. The Project ECHO being offered by the NJCAHT is designed to close that gap by equipping healthcare leaders with the insight, confidence, and relationships needed to elevate care within their institutions and help shape statewide standards.
The NJCAHT, together with partners HEAL Trafficking and the New Jersey Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, brings survivor-informed, evidence-based expertise to ensure the curriculum reflects best practices across both adult and pediatric care. The selection criteria will ensure that we build a diverse, multidisciplinary cohort, identify applicants with genuine commitment and readiness, and honor the survivor‑informed, trauma‑responsive values of the program.
We hope you will consider joining this inaugural healthcare cohort to contribute to a coordinated, trauma informed response that protects New Jersey’s most vulnerable individuals.
